WereRenamon chapter 6

One day, Zane wanted to take me to a town he wanted to go to for a while and I accepted.  I knew it was a great opportunity to spend time with him without other digimon or humans around.  I've spent some time talking to him before and I learned a lot about him.  He apparently left his home a few years ago and two years ago he learned his family died in a fire.  I asked if I could be his family and he was excited about it.
The town he wanted to visit was near the one where I was created.  We were able to avoid it fortunately but it still made me feel a little on edge.  After all, what was stopping DragAgunimon and Professor Sarah from coming to any nearby town?  The fact that I couldn't think of anything made me worried.  Especially since I was right most of the time.
Zane and I decided to explore the city and check out the sights and places of interests.  These included places to eat when we were hungry and stores to try and get new modify cards and other interesting items.  Zane let me pick some cards since I was the one that was going to be affected by them.  I chose a few interesting ones including a Gallentmon's Shield of the Just card.
When we decided it was time for some actual fun, we went to the town's park.  It was the first time I've been to one and it was great.  We went of some swings to relax and Zane taught me how to play basketball.  I was a fast learner at that and was good at halfway shots.  Although, good times never last.
We were going back to an apartment we rented when I heard a familiar voice call out "I see you have a partner now."  It was familiar because it haunted a lot of my dreams recently.  It was DragAgunimon and I turned and saw Professor Sarah with him.  They looked ready to fight even if I wasn't but I knew I held off our meeting as long as I could.
"Yes, I do," I said not letting my fear enter my voice.  "We've been training for this but I was hoping we wouldn't have to fight in a crowded area."
"Don't worry," Professor Sarah said.  "I made sure no one was around and that everyone was safe.  Remember, I still care about my race like you seem to care about yours."
"Enough talk," DragAgunimon said.  "Ending Flame!"  He sent his attack at me and I tried to cancel it with my Crystal Silo.  However, his attack went right through like it did with the Power card and it hurt like I was hit with a human flamethrower.  However, I sensed his power was normal.
"Surprised?" he asked.  "I held back a lot last time to test you and because Professor Sarah told me to if we ever met.  You see we're two different levels, you and I.  You're just a rookie…and I'm a champion."
I couldn't believe it so I asked Zane and when the data came up on his digivice it said that he was indeed a champion level digimon.  When I asked about it, Professor Sarah laughed.
"You see," she said.  "We decided to try and create another digimon hybrid like you but we thought we needed something stronger just in case you turned on us.  We found a portal to the digital world and were able to capture an Agunimon and later a dragon.  We knew Agunimon was a champion level and both creatures were good at fire attacks.  It was the perfect weapon against digimon and you."
We continued the fight for a while with me managing to get a few hits in but not nearly as much and he did.  Zane and I tried a combo that was decent but not nearly enough.  We used Hyper Wings to get me to fly, Speed to get me behind DragAgunimon and quickly, then Snimon's Twin Sickles to change my hands into Snimon's and I used his Twin Sickles attack and made DragAgunimon fall only for him to get back up.  When I tried to land another Wild Paw hit, he sidestepped, grabbed my throat, and threw me to the side.  I lay on the ground and just managed to get up barely.
"Not bad," DragAgunimon said.  "However, I think it's time to see how much you really like your partner.  Our plan was to weaken you enough to keep you away from you partner and try to kill him so you see how it's like to lose a friend like Professor Sarah lost Professor Logan.  Ending Flame!"
He aimed the attack at Zane and fired.  I couldn't let him die so I ran as fast as I could toward him and took the attack myself.  It hurt even more this time and I knew this was his full power.  However, I was happy because it meant that I saved Zane from a lot of pain and suffering.  As I fell to the ground I just barely heard Zane calling my name.  There was pain in his voice and I wondered if I made the right choice.
After he called my name, though, I felt a lot of energy surge through me.  I felt my data expanding and getting stronger and even changing.  I knew what was happening.  I knew I was actually digivolving.  I said that phrase that all digimon have to say no matter how silly or used up it sounds.
"WereRenamon digivlolves to…WereKyubimon."  I emerged from a bright light judging from Zane removing his arm from his hand as a white Kyubimon with a moon symbol on my forehead instead of a yin-yang symbol.  Also the tips of my tails were light blue so I wasn't all white.
"WereKyubimon…"said Zane amazed and clearly happy.  "You digivolved!  You actually digivolved!"
"Yes," I said.  "I owe it all to you.  Your energy and care helped me to digivolve into my champion form.  Now let's finish this battle.  Lunar Chill!"
I breathed a moonish blue blast from my mouth that was as cold as a night in one of the poles.  It was even cold to me while I was breathing it but it felt just like releasing any other kind of attack.  The attack hit DragAgunimon who was still surprised I digivolved and sent him to the ground.  However, he wasn't one to give up that easily.
"Not bad," he said as he got up.  "Ending Flame!"  He unleashed his attack on me and hit me but Zane had another idea.
"Digi modify!" he yelled and quickly swiped a card through his digivice.  Armor activate!"  I gained armor from the card and was protected from his attack.  We tried it earlier in the battle, but it didn't do too well because of the level difference.  Afterwards, I used my special attack.
I lifted up my tails and yelled, "Lunar Arrows!"  Nine beams of moonish blue light came from my tails, one for each of them.  They combined into one beam and nailed DragAgunimon in the chest.  It definitely did more damage judging by his scream of pain.
After that, Professor Sarah and DragAgunimon retreated seeing how I was now tough to beat with digivolving and my new partner.  Zane came up and hugged me and I hugged back.  After all, we were now more than partners.  We were family and we treated each other that way.
Later, I was able to turn back into WereRenamon and we went back to the apartment.  We knew everyone would be exited that I could now digivolve, but we needed to rest so we decided to wait until the next day.  However, it seemed we weren't going to get a warm welcome after all.
